Freelance
9/15 - present
I’ve dedicated my freelance career to experiencing as much as humanly possible in both work and life. I’ve found great new clients and stumbled upon the aurora borealis. I’ve learned how to build brands from scratch and brushed up on homebuilding. I’ve learned the importance of UX testing when building a mobile app and PH testing when growing oysters. I’ve had the chance to work with some amazing, talented people and see some amazing places – Africa, Ireland, Alaska, Vancouver, PEI, Nova Scotia and most nook and cranny that Maine has to offer.

I grew into advertising adulthood guided by some extremely talented people with small egos – a rare and beautiful subset of the ad world. Here some of my favorite work came out of the most limiting and challenging briefs.
I also learned that there’s a certain amount of athleticism required when working at a lean agency on the largest franchise in the world. I've been on production more in the last few years than most folks see in a lifetime. most importantly, I learned that getting along with people while you’re in the trenches is half the battle.

I was fortunate to learn the ropes at a small shop that punches way above its weight class. Here I got to work on everything - tv, print, radio, outdoor, web & guerrilla (back when it was called that) for some national brands and was able to pick up some awards along the way. It was a great place to grow up - if i’d started at a soulless, behemoth ad firm I would have left advertising to pursue other dreams. Which would likely put me on an expedition trawler in the north sea instead of writing this. Life is funny.
